In June 2016, I completed my internship as a Meeting Coordinator and was offered a promotion to a full-time Meeting Planner. At the time, there was a need in the company and I knew my work load would be extremely heavy and I would be traveling quite often. At the time, I was unsure if I wanted to continue in the third party meeting management area and was doubtful of my role as a supervisor. However, I accepted the offer and got to go to some cities I have never been too, dove into being a supervisor with interviewing and hiring new employees, and became healthcare compliant to start to work on planning pharmaceutical meetings in addition to my previous government programs. The responsibility was hard to manage at first, but I quickly learned how to better manage my time and became a strong delegator to my subordinates.

REFLECTION
This promotion took my career to a new level. At such a young age, I was the one in charge of the office when my boss was away on travel. I became much more knowledgeable not only int he area of work, but also in understanding the my other associates and their strengths and weaknesses. If I had never accepted the offer due to my fears of how challenging the offer would have been, I would have missed out on all the good that came from the position.
